Dixie Harrison |
Dixie Harrison is a native of Athens, AL, and has worked as Minister of Music since 2001.
Dixie earned her Bachelor’s in Music Education from Samford University, and her Master’s in Music Education from the University of North Alabama, with further graduate work at Southern Seminary, Louisville, KY, toward a Masters in Church Music. She has taught children’s drama classes at Ars Nova School of the Arts in Huntsville, AL, with the graded choir program at First Baptist Church, Athens, AL, and spent one summer as youth director at West Highland Baptist Church, Athens, AL.
Dixie also brings to the ministry of the church a background in professional theatre, having worked at Opryland, numerous dinner theatre productions throughout the Southeast, and two seasons with the San Diego Opera. She also appeared with Cumberland County Playhouse, Charlotte Repertory Theatre, Tennessee Repertory Theatre and the Tennessee State Company.
